Privacy Policy

Effective date / Last updated: September 4, 2026

This Privacy Policy explains how RanchTask (“RanchTask,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) collects, uses, discloses, and protects information when you visit ranchtask.com, submit a task, apply to become a provider, communicate with us, or otherwise use our marketplace/referral services (the “Service”).

Plain-language summary: We collect information needed to receive task requests and provider applications, communicate with users, and make relevant connections. We do not currently sell personal information for money or use personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising.

1. Information We Collect

Information you provide directly. Depending on how you use RanchTask, this may include your name, email address, phone number, ZIP code, service area, business/provider name, job description, timing needs, services offered, license number, insurance information, and the contents of messages or support requests.

Information about jobs and marketplace activity. We may collect details needed to understand a requested job or provider offering, including location at the ZIP/service-area level, requested services, availability, and information you choose to provide about property, animals, equipment, or work conditions.

Technical information. Our website infrastructure and service providers may automatically process information such as IP address, browser/device type, operating system, referring page, timestamps, security logs, and similar technical information needed to deliver, protect, troubleshoot, and measure the Service. We do not currently operate our own advertising-tracking program.

Please do not submit Social Security numbers, bank credentials, full payment-card numbers, medical information, or other sensitive information that RanchTask has not specifically requested.

2. How We Collect Information

We collect information directly from you through website forms, email, phone or other communications; automatically through the website and its technical infrastructure; and, where appropriate, from customers or providers who give us information needed for a marketplace connection. We may also receive information from service providers that help us operate the Service.

3. How We Use Information

We may use information to: receive and respond to task requests and provider applications; connect customers and potentially relevant providers; communicate about requests, applications, safety, support, and marketplace activity; operate, maintain, secure, troubleshoot, and improve the Service; prevent fraud, spam, abuse, or unlawful activity; maintain business records; enforce our Terms; comply with law and valid legal process; and protect the rights, safety, and property of RanchTask, our users, and others.

4. How We Disclose Information

Marketplace connections. We may share relevant task information and customer contact information with potential providers when reasonably necessary to facilitate a requested connection. We may share relevant provider/business information with potential customers. Users should understand that information shared with another customer or provider is then also subject to that recipient’s own practices.

Service providers. We may disclose information to vendors that process information on our behalf to provide hosting, website infrastructure, form processing, email, security, analytics, or similar operational services. RanchTask currently uses Formspree to process website form submissions and Cloudflare for website/infrastructure services. Those companies may process technical and submitted information under their own applicable terms and privacy practices.

Legal and safety reasons. We may disclose information if reasonably necessary to comply with law, court orders, subpoenas, or lawful government requests; investigate fraud or security incidents; enforce agreements; or protect rights, safety, or property.

Business transfers. Information may be transferred in connection with a merger, financing, acquisition, reorganization, bankruptcy, sale of assets, or similar business transaction, subject to applicable law.

We do not currently sell personal information for monetary consideration, and we do not currently share personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising. If our practices materially change, we will update this Policy and provide any legally required choices or notices.

5. Cookies, Analytics, and Online Tracking

RanchTask may use essential browser/storage technologies or similar technologies required for site functionality, security, and infrastructure. We do not currently use third-party behavioral advertising cookies on the RanchTask site. Because our current site is not designed to track users across unaffiliated websites for targeted advertising, we do not currently respond differently to legacy browser “Do Not Track” signals. If we add analytics, advertising, or other tracking that materially changes these practices, we will update this Policy and provide legally required controls.

Third-party infrastructure providers may process technical information necessary to provide and secure their services. Their practices are governed by their own privacy policies.

6. Data Retention

We retain personal information for as long as reasonably necessary for the purposes described in this Policy, including to handle active requests and provider relationships, maintain business and safety records, resolve disputes, enforce agreements, prevent fraud, and satisfy legal, tax, accounting, or reporting obligations. Retention periods vary based on the type of information and why it is needed. When information is no longer reasonably necessary, we may delete, de-identify, or securely dispose of it, subject to legal and operational requirements.

7. Security

We use reasonable administrative, technical, and organizational measures appropriate to the nature of the information we handle. However, no website, transmission, or storage system can be guaranteed 100% secure. You are responsible for using appropriate care when sending information online and for avoiding unnecessary sensitive information in task descriptions.

8. Your Choices and Requests

You may request access to, correction of, or deletion of personal information you have submitted to RanchTask by emailing support@ranchtask.com. We may need to verify your identity before completing a request, and we may retain information where permitted or required by law. You may also ask questions about our privacy practices at that address.

If you receive optional promotional email from RanchTask in the future, you may use the unsubscribe method provided in that message. Service-related communications about an active request, application, security issue, or legal matter may still be sent when appropriate.

9. California Privacy Information

California residents may have privacy rights under laws that apply to a particular business and processing activity. RanchTask will honor rights that apply to it, which may include rights to know/access, correct, delete, opt out of certain sale or sharing, limit certain uses of sensitive personal information, and receive non-discriminatory treatment for exercising applicable privacy rights. RanchTask does not currently sell personal information for money or share it for cross-context behavioral advertising.

To submit a privacy request, email support@ranchtask.com with “Privacy Request” in the subject line and describe your request. If California law requires an additional request method or privacy control as RanchTask grows or its practices change, we will provide it.

10. Children’s Privacy

The RanchTask marketplace is intended for adults. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13 through the Service, and persons under 18 may not use RanchTask to enter into paid service arrangements. If you believe a child has submitted personal information to RanchTask, contact us so we can review and, where appropriate, delete it.

11. Third-Party Websites and Services

The Service may contain links to or rely on third-party websites and services. This Policy does not govern third parties’ independent privacy practices. Review their privacy notices before providing information directly to them.

12. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy as our Service, vendors, or legal obligations change. The current version will be posted on this page with its effective/last-updated date. If changes are material, we may provide additional notice when reasonably appropriate. We will review this Policy periodically and update it when our actual practices change.
